SCPI - Climate Protection by Recycling
SENS International is launching a pioneering project in the form of the Swiss Climate Protection Initiative SCPI. It is the only organisation in the world to concentrate on sustainable climate protection projects which aim at the extraction and complete destruction of the ozone-depleting greenhouse gases CFCs. The three-phase process applied enables CFCs to be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner and raw materials to be recovered at the same time.
SENS International is taking responsibility for recycling CFC-containing waste in an environmentally sound manner, thereby creating a unique climate protection project. Refrigeration appliances undergo industrial processing, and the CFCs are completely destroyed. Thanks to the high global warming potential of the CFCs and the efficient recycling process, there is scarcely another project that achieves as much effective climate protection per franc spent as this one. The «Swiss Charter – Climate Protection by Recycling» specifies the framework conditions for climate protection, an area which has gone largely unheeded up to now.
Through the complete destruction of ozone-depleting greenhouse gases CFCs, verified by external experts, the project company is credited with emission reduction certificates, which SENS International is placing on the voluntary market. The profits from the sale of certificates are invested in personnel development and in further plants. SCPI projects are currently being conducted exclusively with the Swiss climate protection company Fox & Earth Industries and its Brazilian subsidiary, the project company Indústria Fox.
However, SCPI climate protection projects are not limited to the reduction of greenhouse gases but bring about sustainable ecological, social, economic and technological development impetuses. Through project implementation, recycling and utilisation rates are increased, the burden on the environment caused by the dumping of waste further reduced and the environmentally compatible disposal of dangerous harmful substances guaranteed. Furthermore, sustainable employment is created.
