Pioneering Project Brazil
The pioneering project of the Swiss Climate Protection Initiative SCPI is being launched in Brazil. Together with its project partner Fox & Earth and the subsidiary Indústria Fox, SENS International is building the first environmentally compatible recycling plant for refrigeration appliances in South America. Cabreúva in the federal state of São Paulo has been chosen as the location for the pioneering plant. With its highly concentrated population agglomerations, Brazil is suitable for this project not only because of the favourable logistics framework conditions, but also because of its political environment.
Under its Swiss Climate Protection Initiative SPCI, SENS International, together with its project partner Fox & Earth Industries and the Brazilian subsidiary Indústria Fox, is setting up the first environmentally compatible recycling plant for refrigeration appliances in South America which fulfils the high Swiss standards. Cabreúva in the federal state of São Paulo has been chosen as the location for the pioneering project.
The first phase of the Swiss Climate Protection Initiative is concentrating on Brazil. Several programmes are up and running in the country for the exchange of old refrigerators for new energy-efficient equipment. But the problem of environmentally correct disposal remains unsolved. Most refrigeration appliances in Brazil continue to be disposed of using auto shredders and CFCs escape into the atmosphere.
The ecological, social, economic and technological added value which the Swiss Climate Protection Initiative offers has convinced both private and public institutions. They support SENS International financially and in a consultative capacity.
