History and Vision
Building on long years of experience in recycling, SENS International is treading new paths in climate protection by recycling. As a pioneer in this field, it is developing first-class climate protection projects and future-oriented recycling solutions. The foundation strives for the preservation of natural resources and sustainable ecological, social, economic and technological developments.
SENS International was created at the beginning of 2009 as a subsidiary of the Stiftung Entsorgung Schweiz (SENS). The SENS Foundation, as a front-runner in the recycling of cooling appliances, can look back on soon to be a 20-year success story in Switzerland and in particular in Europe too.
The standards on refrigeration appliance recycling produced and established by SENS have penetrated quality assurance throughout Europe through the work in the WEEE Forum. SENS has also gained a reputation outside Europe as a competent point of reference in the disposal of climate-damaging waste through extensive studies on the disposal of CFCs and the ongoing further development of its know-how.
SENS therefore possesses huge potential to expand into emerging markets with its commitment to climate protection projects based on the environmentally friendly recycling of CFC-containing waste. SENS International was founded with this mission in mind.
